When you come to First Baptist Church in Newton, be prepared to experience friendship, love, and a sense of community. You can expect a warm and caring congregation of diverse backgrounds. You will see an 1888 Late Victorian style sanctuary filled with young families, families that go back generations, as well as individuals that are young and young at heart.. During our worship service, you will hear classical music and hymns accompanied by a 19th century organ.

We follow the biblical lectionary and church calendar year in our worship with scripture readings. You will hear biblically referenced sermons that will relate to our lives in a clear and practical way today. There will be a time when the children are invited to the front to share a special moment with one of the ministers. You will see members of the congregation actively participate in the service as well. As a guest, you will be invited to fill out a visitor's card to include in the offering plate as it comes around.

Even though the church is set in a classical style, you are invited to come and join in a warm and casual environment. You are welcome to dress in t-shirt and jeans, wear your “Sunday best” or anything in between. Children and youth are a delightful part of the worship service and we have a professionally staffed nursery for your infants and toddlers. The truth of the matter is, come as you are.
